One day language and culture programs available

A qualified teacher in Queensland and NSW, Lisa can design a one day course, or a series of one day programs, to invigorate your language offering. Students participate in real world learning activities, and make use of emerging technologies, such as WeChat and Google Translate. They will learn to greet and warmly engage with Chinese visitors, friends and classmates, and practise their new skills in the real world.

Accredited units of competency, SITXLAN001 basic oral communication, and SITXCOM002 show social and cultural sensitivity are also offered, and a statement of attainment will be provided to students who complete the performance skills and knowledge evidence assessment requirements.

Incursions and Excursions

In a program especially designed for schools, students learn basic greeting in Chinese, and practise using Google Translate to listen to, remember, and speak short phrases. They focus on simple expressions for ordering food and drinks. As an approved excursion, we travel to a local restaurant for lunch, giving students a wonderful opportunity to experience Chinese culture without leaving their home town.

Great for primary and secondary school students, Languages Departments, and excellent for Business, Hospitality, Tourism or Global Studies classes. We can design a program to suit your curriculum. How about a visit to your local Chinatown?

Classes are flexible and engaging. Please find some examples below, and email for more information.

Experiential learning

Engaging young people in learning a second language is challenging, and if you can make it fun, they may even enjoy it. As part of an International Boys' School Coalition (IBSC)  Action Research Project, Lisa created an alternative to Year 10 Outward Bound Camp for The Southport School (TSS), travelling to Beijing each year with 30 boys and 5 staff for five days in the city, and five days hiking on the Great Wall. .
